Everyone in the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, community was saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Nathan Starmans, second year International Business Administration (IBA) student, on 28 November 2020.

Nathan was a friendly, ambitious person with a zest for life and a warm, open mind. Nathan particularly resonated with RSM’s mission statement to be a force for positive change in the world.

In his own words: “RSM likes to make the world a better place with the social and ecological challenges ahead by providing students the knowledge and tools through research, education and engagement. Which they can use in their future companies, businesses or consultancy.“

In his memory, we are accepting donations to the RSM Hummingbird Fund. This fund provides RSM students with the chance to pitch for grants between €500 and €3,000 to create new projects that help them to learn outside the classroom, and directly have a positive impact on the world.

Nathan’s family, friends, and teachers agreed supporting the RSM Hummingbird Fund would be a fitting tribute to Nathan’s vitality, kindness and drive to make a positive impact in the world.
